Homonym,Homophones and Homograph



Homonym

Homonym is derived from the Greek , the homos and Onuma . The words respectively meaning ' similar ' or 'same' and 'name' . In linguistics , this term is defined as words that form and manner the same pronunciation , but have different meanings .

For example , the word precarious and distance .

Precarious
Because of the war , the town looked very precarious ( critical = severe ) .
Sister were repairing a leaky roof tiles ( tiles = roof ) .

distance
Dad was planting trees in the distance behind the house ( distance = tree ) .
The distance from home to school far enough away ( distance = size ) .

Homonym is a word that has different meanings but the same pronunciation or spelling . In the Indonesian homonym still can be differentiated again on homograph and homophones , because of the similarity of the form can be seen from the point of spelling or pronunciation . If the same pronunciation is called homograph , but if that is spelled the same , it is called homophones .

Homophones word comes from the word homo meaning the same and Foni ( phone ) means the sound / voice . Greek : ὁμός , homos , " the same " and φωνή , Phone, " sound " ) is a word pronounced the same as another word but differs in terms of intent . Homophones It is a word which pronunciation / sound alike but have different meanings and writing . Homophones are words that are pronounced the same but differ in terms of purpose or meaning and different writings .

Words are homophones might spelled the same or different .
Example Homophones :
 
1. Penalties : ( doubt ) | Sanctions ( penalties )
2. Bank (storage / borrow money ) | bang (the term older men )
3. Rock ( stream music) | Skirts ( Clothing subordinate to a woman )
 
While different homograph . If homophones same pronunciation , 
homograph pronounced differently but the same writings .

Homograph consist of words homo meaning the same and the graph ( graph ) means writing . 
( Greek : ὁμός , homos , " the same " and γράφω , gráphō , "write " ) 
homo meaning the same and the graph ( graph ) means writing . 
Homograph is a word that is writing the same , but different pronunciation and meaning. 
Homograph is a word with which his pronunciation or sound the same but with a different meaning .
