Collocation is a pair or group of words that are
habitually juxtaposed . or two or more words that are
often used together to form a unity of meaning .
This combination for Native Speaker is not so strange because it is often
used . a native speaker is someone who speaks a language as his or her first
languange . For example , In English , collocation exemplified by "
powerful engine" , but never said the " strong engine" , whereas
the meaning of the powerful with the same strong. Similarly, the term
"fast car" ( a fast car or car racing ) , and never say with
"quick car ", but equally congruent with quick fast . If there is a
question why it is so, the answer is none other than the " collocation
" .
Collocation is the words that are used on a regular basis with certain
words. For example , three- word collocations for the word ' friend ' is the '
best , ' 'good , ' and ' loyal . '
Here are some examples of sentences using Collocation :
• " Rizal go home with his best friend every day . " (Best )
• " Rizal eats with his good friends . " (Good , close)
The word 'good ' is another Collocation that can be used to replace the '
good ' as " Rizal eats with his close friends . "
• " Rizal has been a loyal friend for Decades . " ( Loyal , true
, real , faithful , trusted )
All the words in brackets can be used to replace the word " loyal
" all this is another example of Collocation for the word ' friend ' .

Strong tea = powerfull tea
Strong coffee = powerfull coffee
Rich taste = Deep taste
Big mistake = deep mistake
Great fun = Big fun
Sweet dream =Nice dream

Collocation needs to be learned in English because there is no dictionary that provides lodging for word collocations , so if there are native speakers ( native ) English said in a collocation we shall understand without the help of a dictionary , therefore it is important for us to learn about a collocation in the word .
Collocations is a word in the English language that join with other words to form a mutually continuous meaning and when replaced with other words, it will create a lack laziman meaning even if the word has the same meaning .
